William "Bill" Schunk's Obituary

Bill was the youngest of 5 children and often jokingly referred to himself as a “mistake” or his dad’s “left hand” because his dad lost his hand in a corn shredder at a young age. He graduated from St. Clair High School Class of 1957. He always enjoyed attending the monthly class luncheons. Following graduation he enlisted and served 2 years with the U.S. Army as a medic.
Bill owned and operated Blue Water Marine Construction later called Sanford and Son Marine Construction, installing docks and seawalls along the St. Clair River. He was a die hard baseball and hockey player. Bill loved entertaining on his barge, hosting rides up and down the river and over to Stag Island. Growing up Bill worked on the family farm and in his later years enjoyed gardening. As a former athlete he had a passion for watching sports. His love of dancing was ever-present when attending any event with a dance floor. His unmistakable laugh and his gift of “BS ing” will be missed by all who knew him.
