Linda Reidelbach
Dear Willard and Barb, Jerry and Sally, and Families,
We were just made aware of Billy's passing yesterday. While we haven't seen him in quite a while, memories came flooding back. The only vacation we (Littrell family) ever took during my growing up years was to go "down home" for a couple of weeks in the summer. I am the youngest of my sisters, so I was just a kid to the Hale Boys.
I love your family dearly, Uncle Frebert and Aunt Opal, were always a highlight. Aunt Opal and Aunt Net would allow (actually welcome) me to hang out at the store across the road from Mammy's, where we stayed. Mom would always fuss about that, saying they didn't want me over there, but she was wrong!
Then in the evenings we would sit on Mammy's porch and I LOVED it when the Hale Boys stopped by. They called me Linda Doolittle.
Billy would stop by our house in Deer Park when he came through Cincinnati. Always a treat to see him. He would bring watermelon sometimes and we would sit in the back yard eating it. One time he brought me a bottle of perfume, I think for my high school graduation. He was always kind and thoughtful and nice to be around.
We thank God for His promises, that Billy was a follower of Christ, and that those of us who do the same will see him again one day.
Praying for your comfort.
Love, Cousin Linda (Littrell) Reidelbach
PS to Willard since I don't have your contact information: Donna's husband, Jerry, also passed away on Monday. So if you tried to call Donna, she has been at her son's house since then and would not have heard your voicemail. I will let her know.
