Mr. William C. "Bill" Hollingshead's Obituary
William C. “Bill” Hollingshead, age 65, of St. Clair, passed away May 1, 2015. He was born December 30, 1949 to the late Harold and Rose Hollingshead. Bill was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He served from 1970 to 1972 and received the Purple Heart and Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star while serving in Vietnam. Bill sailed the Great Lakes for one year before working eleven years for PH & D Railroad. He then worked for 20 years at Cargill Salt retiring in 2005. Bill was an avid fan and loved watching Detroit sports teams. He also took great interest in world and current events as reported by CNN. His children and grandchildren were always foremost in his thoughts. His love and concerning ways will be missed.
Bill is survived by his children; Shane (Karen) Hollingshead and Benee (Mel) Wehrwein, grandchildren; Melanie, Anderson, Caroline and Evelyn, sisters; Gail (Jim) Paul, Diane Ketchum (Marcel Damme), and Nancy (Alan) Lacy and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Stefani Hollingshead and grandson Austin Wehrwein.
Visiting hours are Thursday 4-8 p.m. at Young Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday May 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
