Wilhelmina "Billie" Klein's Obituary
Wilhelmina E. Klein (Billie), age 94, of St. Clair, passed away after a long and full life on October 11, 2018. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 30, 1924, the only child of the late John and Minnie Spotts. Her first marriage was to John Moylan on September 1, 1944. Mr. Moylan died April 11, 1980. She subsequently married Frederick Klein on February 3, 1982. They were happily married until his death on April 29, 1992. Billie did not have any children but had a large number of dear friends she considered her family.
She enjoyed attending and serving her church, being a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Algonac for many years until it closed. She then became a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in St. Clair. She enjoyed gardening and antiques, as well as visiting with friends and extended family. Billie was very proud to have been one of the Rosie the Riveters.
She is survived by Rob and Carol Gunn, her dear friends and neighbors as well as caregivers for many years who she considered her children. She is also survived by a special cousin Jan (Randy) Cooper and several other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Many thanks go to the care providers and staff at both Mallards Landing and Lakeshore Woods (Barrs) Residential Center for their continuing care in her last months of her life.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 18th at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting will be from 10 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Private interment will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac.
