Wilfred Thomas Jones Jr.'s Obituary
Wilfred Thomas Jones Jr, age 78, of Lenox Twp., passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 23, 1947 to the late Wilfred and Marion Jones. Wilfred married Rose Geib on April 22, 1967 in Marine City. He honorably served in the United States Army as a combat engineer from 1967-1968 in Vietnam. Wilfred worked diligently as a truck driver for many years. He had an incredible work ethic, and was an avid outdoorsman. He spent countless hours in his garden. Wilfred welcomed the various challenges when it came to building things. He was proud to build many houses for his family. Wilfred was a longtime member of the VFW, Algonac post.
He is survived by his wife, Rose M. Jones; children, Tina (Michael) Hart, Carolyn Lester, Christoffer (Erin) Jones; granddaughters, Melissa (Daniel) Hart, Amber (Austin) Hart; great granddaughter, Nevaeh Toledo; sisters, Helen (John) Foster, Angela (Jerry) Grezch; brother, Lonnie (Connie) Jones; in-laws, David (Lori) Geib, Kay Geib; brothers in arms, Dave (Deb) Bealer, Johnny (Sharon) O’Banyon, as well as several nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his in-laws, Daniel Geib and Ruthann (Ed) VanSlambrouk.
Cremation arrangements with Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. With military honors concluding the visitation at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Valor League, P.O. Box, 295, Algonac, MI, 48001 or St. Clair County Veterans Council.
