Mr. Walter D. Horton's Obituary
Walter D. Horton, age 75, lifelong resident of Marine City, died August 30, 2013. He was born July 15, 1938 in Marine City to the late Caleb and Helen Horton. Walter married Carol Shaw on April 23, 1960 in Port Huron. He was retired from Ford Motor Company.
Walter loved gardening, was an avid fisherman and loved his family and his cat, Jack.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Carol Horton, children; Cynthia Bradley, Walter S. (Paula) Horton, Debra (Joe) Carrier and Kimberly Horton as well as 10 wonderful grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings; Lilia Griffor, Caleb (Sue) Horton, Clayton Horton, Judy (Charles) Kammer and Donna (Wally) Evans and many nieces, nephews and cousins
He was preceded in death by brothers; Ben, Robert and Tommy Horton and sisters; Joyce and Rose Horton.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday September 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of St. Clair Co/SNAP.
