My mom was a very loving compassionate person. She was one who would give the shirt of her back if it was the last thing she owned. She was the most generous woman you would have ever met. She was a great mother who loved us tremendously. She was a strong and bullheaded 5' 150 lb. woman. She was a UPS driver that had a difficult route. She did that route in the Roseville, and Livonia area by her little petite self. This was something she was proud of and so were we.
Her nickname was Freddie. It was given to her by my stepdad Ron back when they met while he was a UPS driver and would go into Clinton Barbecue Restaurant for his lunch hour. She was his waitress. She was a very hard worker. She also owned and operated her own packaging store called Shipping USA. Boy, if only she kept those alive because it was her stores that got UPS to open up the UPS stores. My mom was a very intelligent woman. The only reason she had to sell those stores is because of her back problems causing other problems.
Mom loved making Grandma Dessie's bread pudding. She had it down too. That bread pudding was to die for. Mom, "Believe me I will keep this legacy of our family bread pudding alive for you! I know how much this recipe meant to you." She also, loved Interior design; she should have done this for a living but she enjoyed it personally. She decorated two of her special homes. She did a fabulous job and enjoyed every second. I think she liked spending money too;). We all know how fun that is.......
Another highlight of her life was her hobby of pushing the buttons on a slot machine. This is when her mind was at peace the most. This relaxed her like no other. It does not matter how much money she won or lost as long as she was at rest this is all that matters to all of us........All I wanted was her to be at peace within herself. I wanted her to be happy! There was one thing in her life on a daily basis that was the center of her attention it was her baby (Cat) named Tylo. Oh man, get her on the topic of Tylo and you would think you would fall in love with him too. But no way no how, Tylo is the meanest cat anyone would ever meet. But, Mom and Ron loved that cat dearly!!!
The things I know for fact that she did hate (not many) and this was dirt and baking flour. She hated the way these two things felt on her hands. She made this a known fact many many times. She was such a comical lady. I remember Deeann Frost at Mirelli's restaurant telling me one day when mom came in there to eat there are windows throughout the restaurant and she parked her car all crooked. She went into the restaurant and said to Deeann, "Boy did I park like a Dick or what?" lol. The way mom expressed things was her own special funny way. No one can measure up to her funny, loving, character. She was humorous in a nonchalant way.
I am going to miss you mom more than I can even express in words. I know you are sitting here writing this with me though. Thank you for helping me and I love you to the moon and back. Tell Gram and Pup, and Uncle Bill I love them and miss them tremendously. One day sooner than we think we will all be together for Christmas again Celebrating Jesus' birthday together. I cannot wait but I have many more things to do and you will be right with me every step of the way; this I know for fact! So lets getter done together. With all my love.....Neen<3
