Vernon R. Patterson, Sr.'s Obituary
Vernon R. Patterson Sr., age 75, of St. Clair, died July 21, 2016. He was born March 12, 1941 in St. Clair to the late Hubert and Ethel Patterson.
Vern honorably served his country from 1959 to 1961 with the U.S. Army. On February 23, 1963 Vern married Caroline Block. He retired following 30 years of employment with Consumers Power. Vern was a member of the American Legion Post 449, Marysville, Honorary Life Member of the K of C Council #2251, St. Clair, the St. Clair Cruisers Car Club and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Vern was active in various community activities. He enjoyed many recreational outdoor hobbies, especially when they were shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol Patterson, children; Vern Jr. (Jennifer) Patterson, Chris (Troy) Painter and Scott Patterson, grandchildren; Shauna, Shelby, Lexie, Lainey and Rano, great grandson, Nolan and a brother, Fred Patterson. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Patterson and sister, Margaret Patterson.
Funeral mass will be Monday July 25th at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, East China Twp. Visiting hours are Sunday 2 to 8 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Monday 10 to 11 a.m. at church prior to mass.
