Valarie H. McHaney's Obituary
Valarie H. McHaney, age 85, of Marine City, died May 25, 2016. She was born May 5, 1931 in Casco Twp., to the late John and Alvina Duetsch. Valarie married Arthur McHaney on June 10, 1950 in Peters, Michigan.
Valarie worked for various dental office in the Marine City area for over 40 years. She was an active member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Marine City for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Arthur McHaney, children; Linda (Skip) Hernandez, Larry (Laura) McHaney and Dale (Kathy) McHaney, grandchildren; Chuck (Lisa) Riffenburg, Tom (Brooke) McHaney and Nicholas Hernandez, great grandchildren; Tristan and Kate McHaney, sister, Alvira (Joe) Coulthard and brother, Ken (Sharon) Duetsch and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Valarie was predeceased by a grandson, Scott Riffenburg, brothers, Stanley (Winifred) Duetsch and Walter (Florence) Duetsch, sister, Florence (Melvin) Thueme and father and mother in law, Roy and Minnie McHaney.
Funeral service will be Saturday May 28th at 11 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials to St. Martin’s Memorial Fund. To leave a message of comfort please visit www.youngcolonial.com
