Timothy Jon Hamet's Obituary
Timothy Jon Hamet, age 78, of East China Twp., passed away July 30, 2023, with his loving family at his side in Ascension St. John Hospital, Detroit. Tim was born June 2, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Captain Luther and Marian Hamet. On August 9, 1968 Tim married Andrea Sickle.
Tim graduated from Algonac High School, Class of 1963 and then attended Port Huron Junior College. Following Junior College he graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA and later Wayne State University with a MA. Tim taught middle school for 32 years with Anchor Bay Schools. He was affectionately known as the “Voice of the Tars” as the public address announcer for home games and meets for the Anchor Bay Middle School and Varsity football and track teams.
Tim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Andrea Hamet; sons, Ian Hamet and Kyle (Hilary) Hamet; brother in law and sister in law, David and Catherine Sickle and two nieces.
Following Tim’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Blue Water Area Humane Society or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
