Tia (Frances) Welser's Obituary
Tia (Frances) Welser, age 86, of Marine City, passed away October 31, 2022. Tia was born November 3, 1935 in Marine City to the late Frank and Georgia Regan.
Tia was a proud graduate of Holy Cross High School, Class of 1953, and a lifetime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was also a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing and enjoyed a 44 year career as a registered nurse at River District Hospital. Following retirement Tia worked at the Port Huron Library for 15 years. Tia enjoyed lifelong friendships with many of her co-workers.
Tia’s home was once her grandmother’s home, 420 North Main was a very special place where she would welcome family and friends, sit by the river and watch freighters pass by. In her spare time Tia enjoyed golfing, playing cards, casino visits and bowling. What Tia cherished most was her time with her family, good friends and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who loved her youthful spirit.
She is survived by her children, Patty, Mary Beth (Dave), Marcia (Tom), Mike (Lori), Francie (late Kevin), Meg (Ted) and Barbie (Greg); grandchildren, Krissy (Matt), Lindsay (David), Michael (Kelsie), Jeremy, Brent (Brandi), Kyle (Stephanie), Alex (Emily), Allison (Josh), John (Chloe), Emily (Jeremy), Anne, Bradley (Ally), Alyssa, Matthew, Brendan, Thomas and Grace; great grandchildren, Ashley, Joseph, Parker, Matti, Kaleb, Mia, Jude, Ava, Mason, Nolan, Gus, Cora and Whitney; sister, Joyce Genaw; in laws, Janice and Harold LePior and Dave and Lou Ann Welser and nieces and nephews Judy, Jane, Nancy, K.C., David, Adam and Chad (Melanie).
She was predeceased by her husband, Norm Welser; brother, Tim Regan; Son in law Kevin Quail; niece and goddaughter, Jeannie and infant son, Norman.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday November 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Visiting hours are Friday 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
