Thomas J. Lemanski Sr.'s Obituary
Thomas J. Lemanski Sr., age 87 of Ira Township, died March 27, 2025. Tom was born January 22, 1938 to the late Walter and Clara Lemanski. He married Florence Bourgeois on August 30, 1958 in St. Clair Shores. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2004 after 45 years of marriage.
Thomas owned and operated Tom’s Shell Gas Station in Gross Pointe Woods. He proudly served as a volunteer fire fighter along with being a part of the auxiliary police department in Grosse Pointe Woods. Tom was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus member for St. Jude in Detroit and Immaculate Conception, Anchorville. Thomas enjoyed feather bowling at the Cadieux Café. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle.
Thomas is survived by his 4 children, Ken (Cyndi) Lemanski, Judy Janas, Tom Jr. (Amy) Lemanski, Steve (Robin) Lemanski; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; beloved niece Anni (Anna Marie) Adkins. Thomas was predeceased by a brother, 2 sisters, 3 grandsons.
A funeral mass will be Monday, April 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Anchorville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to mass. There will also be a brief rosary recited by the Knights of Columbus at church before mass. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
