Thomas J. Filo's Obituary
Thomas J. Filo, age 68, passed away October 14, 2015 in his home, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with ALS. Tom was born July 2, 1947 in Detroit, son of the late Stephen and Marie Filo. He married Terry Minor December 4, 1976.
Tom was very active in the community, he was past vice president and president of the Marine City Lions Club, member of the Marine City Zoning Board, past member of the Marine City Maritime Days, lifetime member of St. Clair Hunt and Fish Club and life member of the USS Seattle AO3 Veterans Assoc. Tom served his country with the United States Navy from 1966-1970 starting on the USS Tutuila in Vietnam then became a proud plank owner on the USS Seattle AO3 ending his tour on the USS Amphion before being honorably discharged. He was a tool and die maker by trade and owned his own business Four Point Home Inspection. He enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his Harley, traveling and woodworking. He was a great handyman and was always there to help anyone in need.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Terry, daughter Tracey Filo, sons, Jason (Heather) Filo and Jimmy McDonald, grandchildren; Alicia (Ryan), Cole, soon to be baby McDonald. Also survived by siblings; Barb Pizzo, John (Jan) Filo, Judy (Gary) Allen, Andrea Schlett, Margie (Bill) Wright, Mike (Vicky) Filo, and Steve (Jane) Filo, In Laws; Cheri (Bill) Musial, Jo Ann (Lynn) Watson and Rick Minor. Several nieces and nephews and his weekly visitors Kathy, Jim and John. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Marie Cross.

Funeral services will be Sunday October 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are Saturday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to service.
