Suzanne (Rochon) Konik's Obituary
Suzanne (Rochon) Konik, age 70, of East China Twp., passed away December 13, 2017, in River District Hospital of natural causes with her loving family at her side.
Born in 1947, I spent almost my entire life in Marine City area. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I loved growing up in the 50’s and 60’s in a small town, where life was quiet and simple. I attended Holy Cross Grade School and High School, graduating in 1965 with many lifelong classmates. With so many years together, we are more family than just mere classmates.
I was lucky to have loving parents, Art and Dee Rochon, and great siblings. I was grateful for a safe, comfortable and loving home. I married the love of my life and best friend, Chuck, in 1968. In our 49 year marriage we went through good times and bad times, ups and downs, joy and sorrow, and thru it all our love grew stronger. For this I feel truly blessed. We have four amazing children that complete our life together. I stayed at home to raise our children, but entered the workforce in 1986 as a tax preparer for H&R Block in St. Clair and Algonac. In 1992 I joined Aitken and Ormond Insurance Agency and became a licensed agent. I spent 23 years helping our clients and retired in 2014.
Now I am with my parents, infant brother, Art, and many other relatives. I look forward to my loved ones joining us in our joy, my husband Chuck; daughters Christine Wood and Denise Turke; sons David Konik and Andy (Kateri) Konik; grandchildren Amanda (Logan) Hoover, Sara Wood, Jonathon Turke, Alexis Turke, Breanna Graham, Chloe Graham, Alex Eickhoff and Max Konik; great grandchild, Avery Wiegand; friend and sister, Joan (Mike) Norman; brothers, Louis (Angela) Rochon, Joseph (Mindy) Rochon and Gerard (Charmaine) Rochon and lifelong sister and friend, Mary Schlottman. Brothers in law and sisters in law, Melvin (Kathy) Konik and Sandy Ninnes and Marlene Konik and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
As John Wayne said in Hondo “Everybody gets dead”, and after a full, satisfying and blessed life, it is my turn.
A funeral service will be held Monday December 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 p .m. and Monday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to service.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Detroit Zoo, or Marine City Old Newsboys. To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
