Susan G. Rickert's Obituary
Susan G. Rickert, age 76, of Cottrellville Twp., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 2, 2021. She was born on April 23, 1945 in Port Huron to the late Milton and Grace Smith. Susan married her beloved husband, Richard M. Rickert on January 25, 1964, who preceded her in death on June 27, 2021. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her spare time, Susan enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, and she especially cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, David (Lanie) Rickert, Gary (Jill) Rickert, Steve (Cheryl) Rickert; grandchildren, Shelly Molina, Chelsea Delao, Kaylie Rickert, Kyle Rickert, Kaleb Rickert; step grandchildren, Morgan Shelton, Jordan Shelton, 5 great grandchildren, and 2 beloved dogs, Casey and Toby.
She is preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Frank; sisters, Linda Brooks, and Donna Bickley.
A funeral service will be Monday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be Sunday, November 7th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the funeral on Monday. Following the service, we will process to Rosehill Cemetery, East China for graveside committal prayers. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
