Susan M. Kasemeyer's Obituary
Susan M. Kasemeyer, age 71, of Port Huron, passed away on April 18, 2020. She was born September 29, 1948 in St. Clair to the late Rita and Robert Gunn. Susan graduated from St. Clair High School in 1967. She went on to college to receive her degree as a registered nurse. Following college, she worked at St. John’s Moross in Detroit for many years. She later transferred to River District Hospital, East China. Finally, Susan finished her nursing career at Mercy Hospital, Port Huron. Susan will always be remembered for her motherly love and compassion. Many referred to her as Mama Sue. She always made a point to reach out to people to check in and make sure they were doing well. Susan’s comforting, nurturing, motherly care will be missed by all those impacted by her.
She is survived by her son, Robert Bernardo (Meghan Crowley); grandchildren, Amberly (Logan Bendall) and Colin Bernardo, Bradley Dickenson, Christian, and Aubrie Bernardo; siblings, Robert (Carol) Gunn, Nancy (Tom) Latowski, Becky (Doug) Devary; dear friend, Trina Anderson, as well as many other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Catalino “Buddy” Bernardo.
