Stewart E. Compton's Obituary
Stewart E. Compton, age 78, of East China, passed away September 20, 2022 after a long illness. He was born in Mount Clemens on October 2, 1943 to the late Dewey and Jane Compton. He graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Diesel Mechanics.
He retired from the Macomb County Sheriff Department as a Lieutenant in 1994. Stewart enjoyed boating, fishing, bird watching and classic cars. He was a member of the St. Clair Cruisers Car Club.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years; Nancy Compton, daughters; Sydney Compton and Amanda Reed, along with his grandchildren; Olivia, Averie, Colin, Joshua, and Emily.
He is also survived by his sister; Bonnie Murray, nephews; Rob and Ian Murray, and relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son; Steven Compton and sister; Kate Riley.
Visitation will be Monday, September 26 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
Private Interment will be at Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
