Mrs. Stella M. Sadlowski's Obituary
Stella M. Sadlowski, age 97, of Marine City, entered Eternal Life at the Blue Water Hospice Home on January 19, 2014. She was born in Detroit to the late Thomas and Caroline Haligowski. Stella married Andrew Sadlowski on April 28, 1945. Stella was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She retired from Prestolite Wire Division of Port Huron. Stella also assisted her husband with farming for over 50 years.
Stella was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a member of the Rosary Alter Society. She was a member of the Futuristics Club for over 70 years. She enjoyed cooking, canning, Polish music, dancing, cards, flower gardening, casinos, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Andrew Sadlowski, daughter, Mary (John) Winterbauer, son, Richard “Dick” Sadlowski, grandchildren, Dawn (T) Stackpoole, Steven (Kimberly) Arndt, Kelle (Thomas II) Vertin, Mindy (Eric Schuetzler) Arndt, Richard P. Sadlowski, John (Cathy) Winterbauer, seven great grandchildren, sister, Irene Sadlowski, sister in laws, Kathleen Haligowski and Henrietta Haligowski, as well as many treasured nieces, nephews and friends.
Stella was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Chester and Edward and sisters, Lottie Kwiecinski, Frances Wayne and Eleanor Haligowski.
The family honors the memory of Stella and invite you to visit and share memories Thursday January 23rd from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Additional viewing at the church Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
Funeral mass will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery.
