Shirley Ann Frantz's Obituary
Shirley Ann Frantz, age 88, of St. Clair, went home to be with her Lord and her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Frantz on March 21 ,2025. Bob preceded her in death April 2, 2017. Shirley was born July 22, 1936 in Port Austin, Michigan to the late William and Violet Briggs.
On October 11, 1958 Shirley Briggs married Robert Frantz in Grindstone City, Michigan. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage raising their family, watching their grandchildren and great grandchildren grow, all guided by their love of the Lord.
Shirley formerly worked and retired from Michigan Bell Telephone, Port Huron. Her labor of love and what she was most proud of was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her younger years Shirley played basketball and was a softball pitcher. She also enjoyed bowling. She was an avid sports fan of all sports. From football to women’s softball, Shirley enjoyed watching them all. Whether it was her son’s, grandchildren’s or great grandchildren’s sporting events, Shirley could always be found in the bleachers as their #1 fan.
Shirley’s dedication and love for her Lord was the centerpiece of her life. She looked forward to reading her Bible each day, while making special notations about the scriptures. She was a lifetime member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Later in life Shirley found herself enjoying beautiful jigsaw puzzles and the company of her cat, Maggie.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Robert II (Robin) Frantz and Michael (Pam) Frantz; grandchildren, Michael (Alissa) Frantz, Chantel Frantz (Nick Linstruth), Brianna Frantz (Jeremy Janis), Autumn (Cole) Sanders, Blake Gorinac, Joshua Gorinac and Joseph Gorinac (Leslie McCormick); great grandchildren, Braylon Frantz, Michael Frantz III, Breea Frantz, Savannah Pickett, Ryan Pickett, Bentley Sanders, Hunter Gorinac, Baileigh Gorinac, Beau Gorinac, Davis Gorinac and Parker DelAngel; sisters, Wilma Moss (late James Moss), Donna (Bill) Shirkey and Sharon (Deloy) Hall and many nieces, nephews, brothers in law and sisters in law and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, East China Twp. Visiting hours are Tuesday, March 25th 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to service at the funeral home.
