Shirley Louise Field's Obituary
Shirley Louise Field, age 79, of Marine City, peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2023. She was born to the late Gary and Alma Castlemann on March 1, 1944. Shirley was born and raised in Marine City, graduating from Marine City High School in 1962. She married Michael Field. Shirley enjoyed quilting, hosting holidays and camping in Florida during the winter months. Above all she cherished the time she spent with family.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Theresa Parker; grandchildren, Cristina (Billy) Galvin, Scott Simons, Carrie Simons, Alysha (Austin) Miller, Vivienne Parker, Skylar Parker, Charlotte Hoffman; great grandchildren, James, Molly, Victoria, Michael, Joseph, Layten, Alexis and Addyson.
She is preceded in death by her children, Shellie VanHeusden and Gary Field; siblings, William Castlemann, Carolyn Brady, Mary Verwest.
A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, May 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Visiting hours will be Monday, May 15th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. As well as from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at church prior to mass. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the Funeral home on Monday. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association.
