Sharon M. McLane's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and with much love that we mourn the loss of Sharon M. McLane, age 79. Sharon passed peacefully in her home with family surrounding her on February 23, 2024.
Sharon was born in Detroit Michigan on May 10, 1944 to Virginia & Curtis Dalton. She married Jon C. McLane Sr. in September 1961 and they started their family on Harsens Island, MI. Sharon is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years; youngest child Kathleen Stoll; parents Virginia & Curtis Dalton; sister Darlene Harvey; Brother-in-law William Harvey; and her niece Dawn Harvey.
Sharon will be forever remembered by her exceptionally large family. She was a loving mother to her four children: Jon (Tina) McLane Jr., Deborah (James) Walker, Curtis McLane, Kathleen (Maximillian) Stoll and foster daughter Laurie (Steve) Shumaker. She had the blessing of many grandchildren and great grandchildren: Amber (Matthew) Pollard, Connor, Hayden and Owen Pollard; Dalton McLane; Caleb (Laura) Walker, Fitz and Elsie Walker; Cord (Julia) Walker, Aria, Layla, Fynn and Brady Walker; Kelsey (Benjamin) Sharrow; Chase McLane; Brennen McLane; Kendall Stoll; Kaela Stoll; Khloee Stoll and Karlee Stoll. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Some that she considered as her very own children: William (Mary) Harvey, Donna (Jeffrey) Soulliere and Misty Harvey.
Sharon was a dedicated school bus driver for 38 years where she was lucky enough to have a route on Harsens Island through the Algonac Community Schools. This is where she became Grandma Sharon to everyone. She enjoyed her extra bus runs taking the sports teams to their games, the band to their competitions and the occasional ice cream stops at Weavers Market. Sharon truly enjoyed her job and the kids.
In her free time, Sharon loved being with friends and vacationing with her family; from camping at Cedar Point, traveling for hockey games, to soaking in the Florida sun and much more. She also had a true passion for horses and enjoyed trail riding with them as often as she could. She lived a wonderful life, full of love and compassion.
