Sandra Lee Rickert's Obituary
Sandra Lee Rickert, age 65, of China Twp., died October 3, 2011 in her home with her loving family around her.
She was born August 16, 1946 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to the late James E. Whitwell and Leecy (Baumgardner) Whitwell. She moved to Michigan in 1964 and married James D. Rickert on February 26, 1966. She retired from the Times Herald in November 2009 after 35 years of service. She enjoyed bowling, going to garage sales and being with family; especially her grandsons.
She is survived by her husband James D. Rickert of China Township, a daughter Kerri (Michael) McKay of China Twp, two sisters, Arletta (Jimmie) Orr, Carolyn (James) Dale, one brother Willis (Brenda) Whitwell all of Doniphan, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three special grandsons: Charles, Alexander and Matthew.
She is preceded in death by her sister Emma Foster and parents.
Funeral services will be Friday October 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Clair. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Friday 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to services.
