Sandra Katherine Smith's Obituary
Sandra Katherine Smith, age 79, of St. Clair, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 27, 2024. She was born on January 8, 1945 in Detroit to the late Anton and Irene (Devreese) Tedesco. Sandy was a graduate of Roseville High School, class of 1963, where she met James, her high school sweetheart. Jim and Sandy met as sophomores and married on October 22, 1971. She enjoyed Michigan's four seasons and shorelines, camping, day-trips to quaint towns, her friendly neighbors and most of all she cherished her time spent with her husband and daughter. Sandy had a long, successful career as a realtor. Having had a keen eye for details, she made every house a cozy home for her beloved family. She loved all her pets dearly. Sandy was a persevering woman of her word, devoted wife, dedicated mother, and dependable friend. She will be lovingly remembered for her kindhearted, fun-loving, generous, caring spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, James Smith; daughter, Jamie Smith; nephew, Michael (Susan) Yurgin; cousin, Diane (Roger) Connolly; cousin, Duane (Marianne) Mullica; in-laws, James Patterson, Gerald Smith, Cheryl Smith, and Joann Barrett; best friend, Catherine Markwood.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jacqueline (Tedesco) Yurgin; niece, Debora (Yurgin) Patterson; in-laws, Dan Smith, Donna Fuhr, and Patrick Barrett; best friend, Angela Lumetta.
Cremation arrangements entrusted with Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Those who desire, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Clair County Humane Society or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Sandy.
