Sandra Kay Rock's Obituary
Sandra Kay Rock (Schlarb), age 75, of Marysville, MI and former resident of St. Clair, MI, peacefully passed away on the night of September 21, 2025. She was born October 5, 1949 in the city of Coshocton, OH to Chester and Maxine (Maurer) Schlarb.
She graduated from Fowlerville High School in 1967. Shortly after she graduated from St. Clair County Community College with an Associate’s degree in 1969. She then went on to study at Michigan State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Education in 1972. After, she graduated from the Oakland Police Academy in Detroit in June, 1972 with her basic police training. She was a Kent County Deputy Sheriff for approximately 6 months before marrying Archie Rock on March 17, 1973. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage together. Sandy enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren while being an active member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Blair) Massey, grandchildren, Isabel and Isaac Allen, and Dylan and Tyler Rock, sister, Penny (Schlarb) Pringle, and other loved ones of the Schlarb and Rock families.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Archie Rock, son, Matthew Rock, parents Chester and Maxine Schlarb, father-in-law and mother-in-law Bernard and Leona (McPherson) Rock, sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Schlarb) and George Grover, brother-in-law, Mark Pringle, and nephew, Brian Grover.
Arrangements have been made at Young Funeral Home, China Twp for Saturday, October 4, 2025 with a viewing from 1-3 pm and a service immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers, all donations will be made in memory of Sandy to the Alzheimer’s Association due to her battle with dementia.
