Samuel F. Polio's Obituary
Samuel F. Polio, age 79, of Marine City, passed away November 23, 2018. He was born April 5, 1939 in Kane, Pennsylvania to the late Samuel and Lenna Polio.
On November 14, 1959 Sam married Ruth Stevens in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sam honorably served with the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1961. He retired in 2001 from the Pipefitters Local 636 and also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #856, Marine City. In his spare time Sam enjoyed golfing at Pine Shores Golf Course and playing pool and bowling in area leagues.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Polio; children, Jean Polio, Sam Polio, Mike (Sarah) Polio, Elizabeth (Bill) Welser and Steve (Jennifer) Polio; grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Joe, Anthony, Nicole, Emma, Michael, Billy, Ruthie, Veronica and Julia; great grandsons, Hunter, Steven and Edmund and sister, Benita Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Teresa and Mary; daughter in law, Susan and brother, Harold.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 28th at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, OLR Parish, Marine City. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Wednesday 11:00 to 12:00 at church prior to mass. Rosary recital will be Tuesday evening. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Marine City.
