Samuel DeGueisippe's Obituary
Samuel DeGueisippe, age 96, of Marine City, went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2026. He was born in Detroit on May 8, 1930. Sam married Mary Biland on June 17, 1950 in Algonac. Mary preceded him death on March 9, 2006. Sam was a man of faith, he was a lifetime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Sam was also dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Council 856. Sam worked as a truck driver for Fraza Equipment, Roseville for 25 years. After retirement, Sam enjoyed being outdoors. He took pride in his home and working hard. He spent countless hours around the house landscaping, fixing-up, and maintaining everything to keep the house looking new. He always found a project to work on, something to do to keep him busy. Those projects are what kept him going which led to living a good full life of 96 years. His legacy will forever be remembered for his incredible work ethic, leading by example, and devotion to his family, friends, and faith.
Sam is survived by his daughters, Linda DeGueisippe; Cathy (Wayne) Miller; grandchildren, Julie (Brett) Willis, Adam (Christine) Miller, Amy DeGueisippe, Dan DeGueisippe; great grandchildren, Izabella, Declan, Ava, Nathan, Ava; and his furry grandchild, Sami.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Mary Ann DeGueisippe; son and daughter-in-law Sam Jr. (Luanne) DeGueisippe.
A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, July 2nd at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, July 1st from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. There will also be one hour of viewing prior to mass at church on Thursday. Sam will be laid to rest next to his wife, Mary at Holy Cross Cemetery, Marine City.
