Sally Ann Leach's Obituary
Sally Ann Leach,89, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of St. Clair, Michigan, passed peacefully with her daughter by her side on December 27, 2023. Sally was born on May 21, 1934 to the late Sherwood and Gladys Lee. Sally attended St. Clair schools and married Captain Donald S. Leach in April of 1964. They remained married until his death in October of 2020.
Sally was untamed in all things that she did. She was an avid animal lover, especially fond of dogs. Sally loved all things gambling, including playing cards, pulling slot machines, but most off all, slamming a bingo dobber. She had a knack for canning that allowed her family to enjoy her recipes year-round. Perhaps, however, her most favorite pastime was spoiling those she loved most of all, her children and grandchildren.
Her fierce love will be forever remembered by those who knew her best. She is survived by her children, Michele Malane-Rutherford, Michael (Pam) Malane, and her grandchildren Nicholas (Jennifer) Rutherford, Makenzie (Jim) Jurzysta, and Michael (Terri) Malane. Sally was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Riley and Reese, who always brought a special smile to her face. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald Leach, her parents Sherwood and Gladys Lee, her brother Robert Lee, and her in-laws Bruce and Leonna Leach.
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair to honor the memory of her and her husband, Donald's lives. With a lunch to follow. Memorials are suggested to The American Legion, St. Clair or the wishes of the family.
