Ryan David Ford's Obituary
Ryan David Ford, age 40, of Clyde Twp., passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2023. He was born on June 15, 1983 to Judy and Mark Ford. Ryan honorably served his country in the United States Army for 3 years. He was honorably discharged as a highly decorated Iraqi veteran. He married, Margaret Matthews on July 21, 2007. He worked as a facilitator for DTE for several years. In his spare time, Ryan was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a water fowl hunter, who would hunt anything and everything. Ryan’s other hobbies included, forging and woodworking. He was very skilled at making duck calls, and knives. Above all, Ryan was a family-oriented man. He truly cherished the time he spent with his family. He and Margaret would enjoy rounds of golf together. Ryan and his son, Dominic would spend hours, building/ working on trucks, cars, and dirt bikes. He was also very active in his children’s sports, especially coaching them in Little League. He lived for his family.
If you haven’t met Ryan we are sorry for your loss. The rest of us got to experience and enjoy, his larger than life personality. His kindness, his compassion, his extremely large heart and too many wonderful attributes to list. He was always there when you needed help, or a shoulder to lean on. He loved his family with the entirety of that huge beautiful heart.
We couldn’t have asked for a better person, to grow and spend our lives with. He will be very truly missed be all, but forever live in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Margaret; children, Dominic, Elizabeth, Cecilia, Cora, Eileen, Genevieve; parents, Judy Ford, Mark (Karen) Ford; siblings, Eric (Melissa) Ford, Megan Ford; parents in law, Elizabeth (Nestor) Krywyj; siblings in law, Philip Matthews, Anne DeFauw, Mary Schweiger, Shannon Dinsdale, Scott Matthews, Lana Walker, Nathan Matthews, Rose Matthews, Erica Brengman, Nick Matthews, Monica Volkman, Joseph Krywyj, Alexandra Krywyj , as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be on Friday, July 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward’s on the Lake, 6945 Lakeshore Road, Lakeport, MI 48059. Visiting hours will be Thursday, July 27th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment and military honors to take place following the mass on Friday at Mt.
