Ruth J. Meyers
Richmond, MI. – Ruth J. Meyers, age 68, died August 22, 2011 after a tough battle with cancer. She was born October 26, 1942 in Memphis, MI daughter of the late John and Febe Vikstrom.
Ruthie was a great hard working, loving woman, who was a lifelong passionate teacher. She retired from Mt. Clemens School District, but continued to teach all that she came into contact with until the day she passed. Ruthie had a strong love for Horses, Western Movies, and CSPAN.
She is survived by her loving children: Brad (Heather) Dittman, Mark (Carol) Meyers, John Meyers, Stacey (Greg) Leach, Kerstin (Pete) Schultz, and Sarah (John) Foster; her late son Jason Meyers; grand children: Joseph and Chelsea Gurzick, Chad Schultz; Amanda, Hannah and Ryan Meyers; Brandon and Maisie Meyers; Zachary and Rachel Leach; Chad, Nick, and Chris Gramzow, Joshua, Jalynn, Jensen and Julia Foster; Nathan Roldan, Elizabeth Wojocieshowski, Benjamin Dittman. Siblings: Ingrid Traber, Margaret Heinrichs, Mary Zurakowski, Nils (Bob) Vikstrom, Dennis Vikstrom, the late Carl Vikstrom, John (Art) Vikstrom, Fritz Vikstrom, Sven (Herb) Vikstrom
Always being one for gaining more knowledge, she has donated her body to U of M Medical. She has requested that no services occur. A small immediate family gathering will occur at a later date.
Her final request instead of flowers/donations was for each to learn something new, and most importantly do something with that knowledge.
