Ruth M. Sawher's Obituary
Ruth Mary Sawher, age 81, of St. Clair passed away February 20, 2017, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 30, 1935 in Port Huron to the late William and Sophia Anderson. On September 15, 1956 Ruth married Earl E. Sawher. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Over the years Ruth enjoyed working at Pine River Plastics and Speedway. She was very proud to have been instrumental in starting the girl’s softball program within St. Clair Little League. She also served as a Little League officer for many years. Ruth attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, St. Clair and volunteered with Kids in Distress. For many years Ruth enjoyed bowling on the Tuesday evening league at St. Clair River Lanes.
She is survived by her son, Scott (Denise) Sawher and daughter, Michelle (Steven) Kuschel, grandchildren, Jamie (Tony) Benigno, Tony Sawher, Ryan (Katelyn) Sawher, Tylyn Sawher and Jacob and Miah Kuschel and great grandchildren, Presley, Gage, Jase and Rowen. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Anderson.
Funeral services will be Thursday February 23rd, at 11 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are Wednesday 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Clair Little League or Kids in Distress. To leave a message of comfort visit, www.youngcolonial.com
