Ruth S. Kaminski's Obituary
Ruth S. Kaminski, age 83, of East China Twp., passed away on October 3, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born November 13, 1935 in Kalamazoo to the late Martin and Ethel Redmond. Ruth married Ervin Kaminski on September 23, 1959 in Detroit, he preceded her in death on May 19, 1991.
Ruth loved playing bingo, gambling, going on casino trips. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clair. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, especially cooking with her grandchildren making homemade pierogis, city chicken, and gloumpki (Polish stuffed cabbage), as well as going on adventures with her granddaughter Chelsea (Thelma and Louise).
She is survived by her children, John (Vivian) Kaminski, William (Tamara) Kaminski, Michele (Robert) Steier-Knapp, Thomas (Jamie) Kaminski, Michael (Pamela) Kaminski; grandchildren David (Amanda) Steier II, Chelsea Steier, Eric, Katelyn, Sarah, Kevin Kaminski, Robert, Nichole, Brandon Knapp.
Ruth was preceded in death by her son in-law David Steier.
A Memorial service will be Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours will be Tuesday October 8, 2019 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Wednesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
