Ruth M. Fessenden's Obituary
Ruth M. Fessenden, age 89, of Marine City, passed away March 17, 2025. She was born February 26, 1936 to the late William and Alice Osterland.
Ruth was a graduate of Marine City High School. On January 21, 1967 Ruth married Hugh Fessenden. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Ruth was a familiar face in Marine City, as she enjoyed working at the Marine City K-Mart as a cashier for many years. She also enjoyed her bingo nights and an occasional trip to the casino. Ruth always looked forward to spending time with her family creating long lasting memories.
She is survived by her son, Tom Lester; daughter and son in law, Margaret and Steve Markel; grandchildren, Anne Therese Lester, Nichole (Andrew) Ekelund, Cassandra (Tim) Demianenko, Amanda Prize and Tyler Fessenden; great grandchildren, Jonathan and Avery Ekelund, Caleb and Wyatt Demianenko, and Caden and Gabriella Prize; brothers, William, Donald and Bernie Osterland and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was predeceased by her son, Michael Fessenden, daughter in law, Kathy Lester, brothers, Wilfred, Elmer, Gerald, Leslie, Melvin and Edmund Osterland and sister, Dorothy Endres.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20th at 7:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are Thursday prior to service from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Urn interment at a later date will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City.
