Mrs. Ruth D. Closs' Obituary
Ruth D. Closs, age 90, lifelong resident of St. Clair, passed away Thursday March 29, 2012.
Ruth was born August 3, 1921 in St. Clair, daughter of the late Lewis and Grace Rock.
On August 5, 1939 Ruth married Hawley Closs in St. Clair. He preceded her in death in 2006.
Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Among Ruth's favorite pastimes were camping, knitting, crocheting, spending winter months in Florida, bingo and watching the Detroit Tigers and her favorite soap opera. She was also a Gold Star member of the American Legion.
Ruth will be missed by her sons Joe (Patty) Closs and Mike (Millie) Closs, son in law; Erv Westrick, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, sister; Becky Thomas and sister in law; May Ruth Rock.
She was preceded in death by a son; David Closs, daughters; Linda Westrick and Dorothy Millspaugh and granddaughter; Jeanette Ketchum.
Funeral services will be Monday April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Sunday 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Ruth's great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
