Thinking of you on your birthday.

Think of you all the time. You were a true friend.
Thinking of you Rusty! Pals forever!!!
Always in my heart.
Thinking of you, Rusty.
I want to express our deepest sympathies to the Whittakers. We were shocked by the news. You’ve been through so much lately and we wish you all the strength to get through mourning but ultimately celebrating Rusty’s life. Know our hearts and thoughts are with you all at this time and always. Scott and Rusty were like the big brothers I never had when growing up, and the times spent at the Whittaker house with us boys was always looked forward to for major fun and (maybe sometimes) our mid-adventures. Our “big brother” Rusty will forever be missed but never forgotten. Jamie & the Stoutenburgs
A nephew gone to soon and very loved. So many memories from my babysitting days of Rusty till now. Always there with a helping hand and a bright smile. Your mother's right hand man. A loving father. Our family has endured so much the past five years. I wish peace could just come and stay. I wanted to share a poem I carry with me after my love, Rich passed away. I think it says a lot and hope it can give some comfort to all.
The Early Days
A Death Has Occurred
A death has occurred and everything is changed.
We are painfully aware
that life can never be the same again,
that yesterday is over,
that relationships once rich have ended.
But there is another way to look upon this truth.
If life now went on the same,
without the presence of the one who has died,
we could only conclude that the life we remember
made no contribution, filled no space, meant nothing.
The fact that this person left behind a place
that cannot be filled
is a high tribute to this individual.
Life can be the same after a trinket has been lost,
but never after the loss of a treasure.
I will miss you so much. My love to you and yours. Aunt Penny
