Roy E. Fraley's Obituary
Roy E. Fraley, age 98, of Marine City, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, December 19, 2022. He was born September 3, 1924 in Detroit to the late Chester and Evangeline Fraley. Roy married Martha Chmielewski on May 17, 1958 and she preceded him in death on September 29, 2021.
Roy worked for Chris Craft then went to work for General Motors and retired after 25 years of work. He was a long-time parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Roy enjoyed the Great Lakes, rivers and watching the boat and freighter traffic, he also liked model freighters and model trains. Most of all Roy loved the time he was able to spend with his kids, grandkids and other loving family members.
He is survived by his daughters, Sue (John) Reik of St. Clair Shores, Jennifer (Michael) Delor of China Twp., Jayne (Clifton) Fraley-Burgett of Kalamazoo; daughter in-law, Debbi Fraley of Marine City; grandchildren, Peter, Phillip, Brandon, Dana, Carly, Ethan, Jonas, Evangeline, Aiden, Samantha, Jacob, Nichole, Alexis, Vincent, Matthew; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Paul (Siscily) Fraley of Arizona.
Roy is preceded in death by his children, Mark Fraley, Kathy (Ron) Tobola, Christa Fraley; brothers, Richard Fraley, Clifford Fraley.
A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City with visitation on Monday January 9, 2023 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. with a Rosary being said at 7:00pm.
