Rosella A. Rappold's Obituary
Rosella A. Rappold, age 100 of Marine City, died May 31, 2010 after a brief illness, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Ida and Albert Huebner in Detroit and was the beloved wife to Karl for over 66 years prior to his passing.
For over 20 years she was a pink lady volunteer at the St. John's River District Hospital in East China Twp.
She enjoyed ceramics, quilting, oil painting, needlepoint, cross stitch and baking. She was very active with her church, St. John's United Church of Christ in Marine City, loved to play cards, and bowling and traveling with her husband.
Her family always looked forward to her homemade coffee cakes, pies, and Christmas cookies.
When each of her grandchildren married, she made them special quilts and a ceramic figurine bride and groom. Special baby quilts were also ready as each new great grandchild was born.
She was a very loving, devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, Nana and friend who was loved very much and will be greatly missed by those who knew her and her gentle and quiet presence.
She is survived by her son Ronald of Florida, her daughter Karen Lodge of Shelby Twp., grandchildren Jeffrey (Christine) Lodge of Germany, Deborah (John) Gasparovich of Texas, Stephen (Lisa) Lodge of Washington Twp. and Cheryl (Vinnie) Arini of Clinton Twp. Also six great grandchildren; Brendan and Jordan Lodge, Lindsay and Ryan Gasparovich, and Samantha and Courtney Arini.
She was preceded in death by her brother Melburn, son in law Ronald Lodge, and husband Karl.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Twp. Rev. Harvey Reh will officiate. Visiting hours are Thursday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, 2227 W. Blvd., Marine City.
