In Loving Memory of Rosalyn Roegner
December 9, 1934 – September 9, 2025
With profound sadness and enduring love, we announce the passing of Rosalyn Roegner on September 9, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born on December 9, 1934 to Lillian and Kenneth Edwards in St. Clair, Michigan, Rosalyn lived a life defined by compassion, faith, and quiet strength. In 1955, she completed her nurses training at Henry Ford Hospital, beginning a lifelong vocation of care and service. She spent many years as a nurse at Marwood Manor in Port Huron, where her gentle touch and unwavering dedication brought comfort to countless patients and families.
Rosalyn was a devout lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, now Holy Family Episcopal Church in St. Clair, where her faith was a guiding light. Her presence in the church community was steadfast and humble, a reflection of her deep spiritual commitment.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George, who passed away in January 2024 after 67 years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and shared joy. Rosalyn was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Bertschinger, who shared her calling as a nurse and her spirit of service.
Rosalyn is survived by her five children, each of whom carries forward her legacy of love and kindness: Mark Roegner of Chesterland, Ohio, his wife Jenny Mendes, and their daughter Arwen Swords and her son Aaren, Sue Smith of Peoria, Arizona, her husband Eric, and their daughter Elizabeth, Paul Roegner of Dearborn, Michigan, good friend Carol Saro and little brother Luke Tobeler, John Roegner of London, UK, and partner Simon Bell, Sarah Wuebben of Wales, Michigan, her husband Douglas, and their children Brittney and Andrew.
Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into nurturing, guiding, and loving them. Her wisdom, warmth, and gentle humor will be missed beyond measure.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Family at 12 pm, Friday the 12th, 2025 following a short visitation beforehand from 11 am. There will be a luncheon at 2 pm at the Riveria in Marine City. Arrangements by Young Funeral Home, China Twp.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Blue Water Hospice Home or St. Vincent de Paul (check memo; St. Clair Food Pantry). To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
