Ronald L. Salisbury's Obituary
Ronald L. Salisbury, age 77, of East China Twp., peacefully went home to be with his Lord on July 26, 2021 with his loving family at his side. Ron was born April 5, 1944 in Chatham, Ontario to the late Bruce and Jean Salisbury.
On February 3, 1962, Ron married Sandra Tranchemontagne in Marine City. Ron worked for General Motors, retiring after 30 years of employment. Following retirement Ron worked another 20 years for Meldrum Brothers Nursery as their maintenance man. Ron was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a charter member of the Spare Parts Car Club. Ron was involved in many local charitable activities and was always ready to give of his time and talents. Helping Hands was one of the many charities he enjoyed working with. For years, Ron enjoyed hunting for many different types of collectibles and then looked forward to his annual Labor Day garage sale. All things considered, Ron most enjoyed the time he shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Sandy Salisbury; children, Ron (Lynn) Salisbury, Jerry (Kathy) Salisbury and Michelle (Scott) Jackins; grandchildren, Mike (Shannon) Salisbury, Ronnie (Brandi) Salisbury, Matthew (Kris) Salisbury, Robert Salisbury, Andrew (Meagan) Salisbury, Jaime (Hunter) Salisbury, Brendan, Allyson and Ryan Jackins; 14 great grandchildren, sisters, Margaret (Don) Hill and Betty (Tom) Holladay and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 31st at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, East China Twp. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at church prior to service.
