Robert J. "Bob" Ward's Obituary
Robert J. "Bob" Ward, age 91, of Casco Twp., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12 surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Justin and Mary (Markel) Ward on April 21, 1920 in Marine City. He married Alice Trombley on January 10, 1942 in New Baltimore. He was a mold maker for many years, retiring in 1982. He was a long time parishoner of Immaculate Conception Church in Anchorville. He was a long time pilot and enjoyed woodworking, as well as hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife; Alice, children; Barbara (Bill) Browne of Fort Wayne, IN, Kathy (Bill) Warner of Fort Wayne, IN, Lynn (Frank) Sparger of Ira Twp., Robert A. Ward of Marine City, and son-in-law Brian Verellen of Marine City. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter; Janet Verellen and grandson; James Warner.
Services will be held Saturday, October 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Anchorville. Visiting hours will be Friday, October 14 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at church prior to mass. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
