Robert J. Cook's Obituary
Robert J. Cook, age 84, of St. Clair, died peacefully at home with his family at his side on February 2, 2012.
On October 18, 1947 Robert married Delores Peeling in St. Clair. Robert was a member of Moose Lodge #158, Port Huron, American Legion Post 382, St. Clair and St. Peters Lutheran Church, St. Clair.
He was employed at Diamond Crystal Salt for 44 years missing only one day of work. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He loved playing euchre, going to casinos, watching the Tigers and travelling.
Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years; Delores Cook, children; Carolyn Guitar, Michael (Gwynne) Cook and Dennis Cook, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, brothers; Ron (Ann) Cook and Edwin (Judy) Cook and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter Suzanne Cook, brother Marvin Cook, sisters Betty Schubel and Helen Hawks, son in law Alvin Guitar and parents Robert and Sarah Cook.
Funeral services will be held Monday February 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in Caswell Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00.
Pallbearers are Scott and Robert Guitar, Dennis, Randy and Ronnie Lee Cook and Kenny Brown. Honorary pallbearer is Bob Eck.
