Robert "Old Fart" Wright's Obituary
Robert “Old Fart” Wright, age 89, of Marysville, died January 31, 2024 at McLaren Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was born December 31, 1934, in Marysville to the late Hazel and David Wright.
Robert graduated from Marysville High School in 1953, where he played on the varsity basketball, track and football teams. He married Geraldine Limberg on February 13, 1954 in St. Clair. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2020. He was a volunteer fireman for Marysville for 12 years and was part of their dive and waterball teams. He was elected to the Marysville school board in 1972 and served for one term. Robert was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Clair. He retired from the Tech Center as an Electrician from General Motors.
He loved fishing, boating, hunting and the St. Clair River. He was known by many as the Old Fart. He loved riding his three-wheel bike down to the boat ramp daily and talking with the fisherman. He caught his last fish at the age of 88. They spent the winters in North Fort Myers for 16 years. He played in the North Fort Myers Harmonica band.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was everyone’s favorite Uncle.
He is survived by his daughters, Pam (Craig) Teeple, Peggy (Ron) Doan, Nancy (Chip) Ellis; his grandchildren are Jeremy, Heather and Brandon Teeple, Dave and Robert Doan, William Ellis and their spouses. His great- grandchildren are Jillian and Trever Teeple, Ryan and Logan Doan, Lauryn, Ty, Ashlynn and Trey Doan, Gavin and Riley Teeple and James Ellis. Many Nieces and Nephews include Sandy (Ross) Baldwin, Scott Desjardin, and special friends Bill and Carol Badley and Christine Fraley.
His siblings, Dorothy, Helen, David, Hazel and in-laws Phyllis and Louis Weiss preceded him in death.
