He was born on June 30th, 1929 to Paul and Vera Moultrie in Flint, Michigan. He graduated in 1947 from Eastern High School in Detroit. Bob met his wife Verna (Mayfield) at Wicksteed park in England while he was serving in the USAF. They were married in December 1954 in Detroit and celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2024. His other interests were playing/watching baseball, aviation and R/C airplanes, reading and crossword puzzles. Bob and Verna loved to travel in the US, the UK and Europe. He also took a special retirement trip to Europe with his sister, Virginia. Bob researched genealogy with his niece, Lorrie Stephenson, tracing family lineage to Colonel William Moultrie and a 1776 Revolutionary War victory at Fort Moultrie, SC. Some of his US travel included traveling with Moultrie family members to visit historic family locales and meet-ups with long-lost cousins.
