Robert "Bob" Groves' Obituary
Robert “Bob” Groves, age 89, of China Twp., passed away November 19, 2022. Bob was born June 11, 1933 in Hamtramck to the late Alexander and Mary Grochowski.
On November 8, 1958 Bob married Margaret Paret. Bob proudly served his country with the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean War Era. He was a 35 year employee of Chrysler Corporation. Bob was a 50 year member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2251, St. Clair. His memberships also included the VFW and American Legion. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing guitar at family functions. Spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren is what Bob enjoyed most.
Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Groves; children, Donna (Richard) Ramsey of Bowling Green, Missouri, Diana (Ray) Dietlin of St. Clair, Michael (Kathy) Groves of Shelby Twp., Christine (Steve) LaHae of Dearborn Heights and Rob Groves of China Twp., nine grandchildren, Christopher, Selena, Nathaniel, Joe, Lori, Scott, Troy, Kelsey and Bridget; eight great grandchildren; in-laws, Jane and Steve Boscarino and Jim and Linda Paret and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Monday November 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Sunday November 27th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A rosary recital will be Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
