Robert D. Frantz's Obituary
Robert D. Frantz, age 83, of St. Clair Twp., went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2017, with his loving family at his side. He was born September 22, 1933, to the late Lee and Mary Frantz in Huntington, Indiana. On October 11, 1958, Robert married Shirley Briggs in Grindstone City, Michigan.
Bob served with the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a very gifted athlete. He received All American Honors in high school football and All State Honors in high school track. While in the service he competed in the Golden Gloves. Bob worked for 25 years with the St. Clair County Road Commission. He loved to fish and hunt and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix or repair.
Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Frantz; sons, Robert Frantz II (Robin Thompson) and Michael (Pam) Frantz; grandchildren, Chantel, Brianna, Autumn and Michael II (Christy); great grandchildren, Braylon, Michael III and Breea; siblings, Tom (Carolyn) Frantz, Chee Chee (Al) Hyslop, Dan (Sue) Frantz, Judy (John) Hall, Jill (Dave) Frazier, Lee (Barb) Frantz, Linda (Tom) Jones and Carla (John) McLeod and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Lee (Don) Hines and brother, Joey Frantz.
Funeral service will be Thursday April 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Dan and Lee Frantz, Michael Frantz II, Jeff Hall, Skip Hines and Dave LaDuke. Honorary pallbearers are Chantel and Brianna Frantz and Autumn LaCroix.
