Robert George Carion's Obituary
Robert George Carion, July 14, 1930 to November 19, 2019, age 89, of St. Clair.
Bob passed away with his wife and children at his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and George, grandson Kelsey, daughter, Barbara, brother Bill, and sister Margie.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Gil, of 64 years and their children Cathy (Rob), Sue (Kim), Barb (Don), Judy (Chris), Eileen (Gary), Brian (Kellie), Patsy (Bill), and Joe (Mary Beth). Bob’s 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandsons will miss sharing time with him.
Bob earned a Mechanical Engineering Degree from University of Detroit in 1956. While at U of D, he was a member and past president of Tuyere Fraternity. In 1976, a Master of Arts degree was bestowed on him from Webster College. Bob had a long career as a mechanical engineer and worked for USA TACOM in Warren, Michigan for twenty six years, retiring as a GM 15 in 1988.
Above all, Bob loved being with his family at home. Side trips, visits, and friends were nice, but it was always better at home. His technical skills were remarkable, being able to design a repair to completion was a gift.
Bob will always be remembered as a loving husband, a caring father, a grandpa, and a genuine friend with a great sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, Gil is requesting donations to Washington Life Center Council on Aging, 403 N Mary Street, Marine City, Michigan 48039.
His final internment will be at St Paul on the Lake Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe, Michigan at a future date. Arrangements by Young Funeral Home, China Twp. To leave a message of comfort visit www.youngcolonial.com
