Robert "Bob" Biewer's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Biewer, age 79, of St. Clair, died December 21, 2016. He was born May 31, 1937 in St. Clair to the late John and Hazel Biewer.
Bob started working delivering wood at 14 years old for the family business, John A. Biewer Lumber Co. in St. Clair. He later spent many years working at Biewer Sporting Goods. Whenever asked what he did there he would say with a big smile “I sell fish hooks!” Bob retired at age 48 and following his retirement he and Anne would winter in Las Vegas where they enjoyed golfing and gambling. Bob was also an avid sportsman. He enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips with his friends and family.
He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Richmond Sportsman Club, St. Clair Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Anne Biewer; children, Susan (Steven) Dort, Gayle (Jim) Giusso, Karen (Nathan) Hulliberger, Donald Lalonde and Susan Moore; grandchildren, Nathan (Amanda), Adam (Trina), Amber, Kelly (Jon), Ross, Evan, Alex (Tiffany), Mike (Sorahya) and Kris; 8 great grandchildren; sisters in law, Shirley Biewer and Carol Harse; brother in law, Rick (Pam) Allen and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Ann Dietlin and Carol Warren and brothers, Fred, Richard and Jack Biewer.
Mass of Resurrection will be Thursday December 29th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Additional visitation at church prior to mass from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
