I just had to send praise of her fantastic life and accomplishments. She was a powerhouse of a woman. I'm sure she paved the way for many women. What a life well lived!

My mom and I are very sorry to hear about Rita passing away. Rita was very nice and extremely intelligent.
I was impressed with the way Rita always knew what was going on with local political issues, even when the media had not yet reported things. For example, the time in 2012 when Fox 2 News came to Marine City and Cottrellville to show how I was physically attacked for video recording Cottrellville Township Board meetings. Rita knew about this before it was even broadcast on TV - which I thought was very impressive.
Rita introduced herself to me in 2012 when I was running for Trustee of Cottrellville Twp. Rita gave excellent advice and was incredibly knowledgeable with local politics, statutory law, and federal law. In the unique situations I was placed in as a Trustee of Cottrellville, I often needed advice. Much of that advice was provided by Rita. I was very thankful Rita would take the time to help me.
I will always remember how pleased I was when Rita told me that in all the years she was ever involved in politics, she had never seen anyone put up as many politics signs as I did. Much of that success was because of the advice I was provided with by Rita regarding going door to door campaigning and speaking to people.
Rita is an excellent person. My mom and I send our condolences to all of Rita's family members and loved ones.

Spending an entire day at the farm as kids, always loved going there...good memories. I liked how Aunt Rita said what she meant. She will be missed.
I remember Rita when she was Ira Twp Supervisor. My dad was Chief of Police (Dale Meldrum). The township offices were in the two story brick building in Fair Haven (now has the painting of the big wings on the front of it). I remember Rita as a extremely intelligent, no nonsense, "tell it like it is lady," yet she still had a great sense of humor. I am imagining her with all of the old Ira gang up there laughing about today's politics! She definitely made a difference in the communities she served, and will be missed. My sincere condolences to her family.

I have so many childhood memories of Aunt Rita. She was my first example of a truly independent woman, with her own set of principles, very definite ideas and ideals and with no hesitancy in sharing them. And that was in the '50s!
I always admired her and though I never went down the public service track, she inspired my corporate track and the determination necessary to pursue a challenging career.
If there are committees in Heaven, I'm sure she's already on one...
Rita lived a full life dedicated to her family and community service. I had the privilege of serving with her on the Marine City employee pension board for many years. Condolences to her family! RIP Rita☮️
I’m so sorry to hear of Aunt Rita’s passing. I have so many memories of her He love of books her involvement in the local governments. I was proud to see the name Roehrig plastered all over town when she was up for re election. It does my heart good to see that her daughters have followed her lead.
In reading her obituary I found out she went to my college. I didn’t even know that.
I’m sorry too that I won’t be able to come for her funeral. Please all of my cousins accept my sincere condolences on the death of your mom
