Richard Yamin's Obituary
Richard Yamin went to be with our Lord on December 2, 2020 after being on earth since December 8, 1976. He is dearly missed by his wife of 20 years, Lisa, and their 10 beautiful children ages 19 years to 5 months. Richard was a great example of a true, faith-filled man. He loved sharing his love of God and the Blessed Mother with all he met. Anyone who met Richard was immediately drawn to him as his laugh and humor were infectious. He loved his wife and could never spoil her enough. His kids were his treasures that he held so dear to his heart. So many of us have also been touched by Richard's generosity whether it be in prayer or practical needs.
Richard graduated from East Detroit High School. He continued his education at Magdalen College in NH and graduated with an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts. He then went to Central Michigan University obtaining a bachelor’s degree of Science in Industrial Administration and Business. In 2020, Richard enrolled at University of Mary where he began his master’s degree with a Specialization in Project Management and Managerial Leadership. Richard spent 15 years of his career as a chef and manager of food services. In 2016, he advanced his career to faithfully serve St. Mary’s Parish in St. Clair where he was the Parish Life Director and Business Manager.
Richard was a true family man, and the biggest joy in life was his family. He shared his talent of singing at Holy Mass and family events. His hobbies included cooking, hunting, was a firearm enthusiast and instructor.
He is survived by his wife Lisa, and 10 children; William, Joseph, Thomas, Anna, Michael, Mary Rose, Richard, John Paul, Stephen and David, parents William Richard Yamin and Margaret Mary Gray /Yamin, siblings; Connie Pulver and Sandra Schiebner. Aunts; Colleen Smock and Kathy Gibson. He is preceded in death by his Uncle, Donald Gibson, Brother in law – Dennis Pulver, Grandmother – Rose Yamin, Grandfather – William Joseph Yamin, Grandmother Helen Gray, Grandfather William Gray.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 9th and Thursday, December 10th at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. On both days, visitation from 2:00PM – 3:00 PM is reserved for seniors or high-risk individuals and open to the public from 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM. A rosary vigil will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 PM. Guests entering the funeral home must wear a mask. The funeral will be celebrated by Father Michael Zuelch held on Friday, December 11th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for family members and close friends due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
