Richard A. Wagner Sr.'s Obituary
Richard A. Wagner Sr., age 83, of Marine City. Went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2023. He was born on March 18, 1939 to the late Harold and Mary Wagner. Richard married Ethel Irene Kotzke on July 16, 1960. Ethel preceded him in death in 1997. Richard and Ethel would go to the local bars and team up and shoot pool vs. anyone that wanted to play. He worked for Pontiac Motors, retiring after 25 years of employment. Working in the automotive industry, Richard had an affinity for cars, he especially enjoyed driving the muscle cars as well as motorcycles. In his earlier years, Richard was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and sitting by the campfire. Later in life, Richard would take is daily car ride. Enjoying the sights of the town, river, sunsets, freighters, and making stops to socialize. Sometimes he would be on the road from sun up to sun down. Richard was a man of faith, who was an active parishioner at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Algonac for several years.
He is survived by his sons, Richard Wagner Jr., Jerry (Kim) Wagner; sister, Janice (Jack) Bachler; 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Randy Wagner; and sister, Joyce Wetter.
Cremation arrangements with Young Funeral Home, China Twp. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, February 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Algonac. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11;00 at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 949 Fruit Street, Algonac, MI 48001.
