Richard "Dick" McVety's Obituary
Richard “Dick” McVety, age 81, of Marysville, died November 5, 2015 following a long illness. He was born February 28, 1934 in Port Huron to the late James and D. Jeanne McVety.
Dick graduated from Port Huron High School in 1952 and Hillsdale College in 1956. Richard married Sarah “Sally” Frye on May 10, 1980. He formerly owned and operated McVety Food Sales.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Sally McVety, children; David (Lisa) McVety of Ann Arbor, Dan (Paula) McVety of Lakeport, Drew (Margaret) McVety of Brooklyn, New York, Catherine O’Dowd of Marysville, Susan (Brian) Clark of Port Huron, Tom (Heidi) Frye of East Grand Rapids and Mary (Steve) Winckler of East China Twp. Grandchildren; Josh, Max, Nelson, Bailey, Duncan, Shaw, Alice, Sarah, Michael, James, Cory, Brandy, Chad, Madison, Matthew, Jon and Connor. Great grandchildren; Skylynn, Victor, Zoe, Elijah and Gabriel and his beloved cat Paisley. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack McVety.
Funeral services will be held Monday November 9th at 1:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Visiting hours are Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday noon to 1 p.m. prior to service.
